Health First Network had negotiated a discount with an outside vendor, Clearwave, to assist in the registration process. Clearwave uses a kiosk system much like you see in airport terminals to register patients at your “front desk.” They do have installations in operation including one locally.
The initial results of the local installation showed that the process and equipment reduced wait times, took some pressure off the front desk and also reduced the denials received from insurance companies. Besides registration, the system also checks eligibility and benefits online for most payers.
